This notice explains what technifyed.com collects, why, how long it is kept, and how you can see, correct or delete it. It is written for the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025 (India).

Who is responsible

technifyed.com is run by Technifyed ("we"), the data fiduciary for the personal data described here. Contact: the contact form.

What we collect, why, and for how long

You can use almost all of the site without giving any personal data. Some links ask for your email first. We collect only this:

A cookie named `tfy_v`	Remembers that this browser confirmed an email, so you are not sent a code every time. It holds a scrambled value, not your email.	180 days, or until you clear your browser data.
Messages you send through Contact: your email, your name if you give it, and your message	To reply to you and act on your request.	24 months.
A scrambled (keyed hash) form of your internet address	To stop abuse: at most a few signups and messages an hour from one network.	1 hour.

We do not collect your name (except in a message you write), your exact location, or anything from your social media accounts, and we never buy data about you.

We save your email only when you press the button after reading the note under the form, and the weekly list only if you tick its box. You can withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it: write to us (below) or use the unsubscribe link in any weekly email. Withdrawing does not affect what happened before, and we then delete your details unless the law requires us to keep them.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers. Your email and phone number are stored encrypted on our own server, in a folder no web address can reach; they are not in Google Sheets, GitHub or any mailing tool. The only other parties involved are those that run the service for us:

Hostinger (web hosting and email): stores the encrypted database and sends the email codes and replies.
Course pages load images and logos from the providers' own servers (Coursera, edX, MIT, Microsoft, YouTube and others), which can see that your browser asked for them. Links open the official sites, which have their own privacy policies.

We may disclose data if Indian law requires it, for example to a court or the police with a valid order.

Children

Much of this site is for college students, and some visitors are under 18. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before you give us your email or phone number; by signing up, you confirm that you are 18 or older or that your parent or guardian agrees. We do not knowingly track children or show them ads based on their behaviour. If you are a parent and believe your child gave us details without your consent, write to us and we will delete them.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can:

Ask what we hold about you and how it is used, and who it was shared with;
Correct or update it;
Have it deleted;
Withdraw your consent at any time;
Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you die or are unable to;
Complain to us, and then to the Data Protection Board of India.

Use the contact form. We may ask you to confirm the request from the same email address, so that nobody else can see or delete your details.

Complaints (grievance redressal)

If you are unhappy with how we handled your data, write to us through the contact form, choosing "A complaint (grievance)". Technifyed reads every complaint, acknowledges it within 7 days and gives a reasoned answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India, which takes complaints online (its notices are published by the Ministry of Electronics and IT at meity.gov.in).

How we protect it

Emails and phone numbers are encrypted (libsodium) before they are saved; the key is kept separately from the data. The site runs only over HTTPS. The admin area needs a password and a one-time code, and locks after repeated wrong tries. Signups and messages are deleted automatically once their time is up (see the table). If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

Cookies and similar storage

This site itself sets one cookie, tfy_v (described above), and uses a session cookie only inside /admin. It also uses your browser's local storage for your saved email and your compare list. You can clear or block all of these in your browser settings; the site keeps working, and you may be asked for your email again.

Changes to this notice

If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and its date, and ask for your consent again before using your data for anything new.
