Overview

Build a backend-first e-commerce system with Next.js and PostgreSQL. Develop APIs for products, carts, taxes, checkout, and order management using production-oriented architecture patterns.

What you'll learn

Design consistent API contracts with reusable request and response utilities
Build product CRUD endpoints with search, pagination, and archival support
Implement shopping carts, line items, computed totals, and inventory snapshots
Apply country-based tax rates and preserve checkout tax data
Convert carts into orders using transactional database workflows
