This course is ideal for IT professionals, DevOps engineers, and anyone interested in learning how to implement observability with Grafana. No prior experience with Grafana is required, but familiarity with basic IT concepts will be beneficial.

  2. Introduction to Grafana 40 minutes

    In this module, we will dive into the foundational aspects of Grafana and how it integrates with DevOps practices to enhance system observability. You'll learn about its role in the observability stack and understand its powerful visualization capabilities.

  3. Installing and Setting Up Grafana 1 hour

    In this module, we will walk you through the installation, configuration, and security setup of Grafana. You'll gain hands-on experience with accessing Grafana and upgrading your installation while ensuring its security.

  4. Grafana Architecture and System Components 35 minutes

    In this module, we will break down Grafana's architecture and its core components, including dashboards, panels, and plugins. You'll understand how these elements work together to enable powerful data visualization and monitoring.

  5. Exploring the Grafana Graphical Interface 1.5 hours

    In this module, we will guide you through a detailed tour of Grafana’s graphical interface, covering dashboard creation, query editors, and various visualization techniques. You'll also learn how to effectively structure dashboards using panels and rows.

  6. Working with CSV Data in Grafana 50 minutes

    In this module, we will explore how to work with CSV data in Grafana using the Infinity plugin. You'll learn how to load, query, and visualize CSV-based data to enhance your monitoring capabilities.

  7. Grafana with GitHub 40 minutes

    In this module, we will explore how to integrate GitHub with Grafana as a data source. You'll see how to visualize GitHub metrics and gain insights directly from your repositories and activities.

  8. Integrating Grafana with Amazon CloudWatch 40 minutes

    In this module, we will introduce Amazon CloudWatch and show you how to integrate it with Grafana to visualize AWS metrics in real-time. This integration will give you a powerful way to monitor your cloud infrastructure.

  9. Grafana and Prometheus 1 hour

    In this module, we will introduce Prometheus, its role in monitoring systems, and how it integrates seamlessly with Grafana. You'll also learn to visualize Prometheus metrics using pre-built templates for quick insights.

  10. Grafana Loki: Log Aggregation 50 minutes

    In this module, we will explore Grafana Loki and its role in log aggregation. You'll learn how to install and configure Loki to collect logs and visualize them within Grafana, enhancing your observability stack.

  11. Grafana Alloy and Logging Pipeline 1 hour

    In this module, we will dive into Grafana Alloy and show you how to use it to build a flexible and efficient logging pipeline. You'll also learn how to integrate it with Loki for enhanced log ingestion and analysis.

  12. Nginx Logging 50 minutes

    In this module, we will explore Nginx logging and how you can leverage it to improve observability in Grafana. You’ll learn how to configure Alloy to collect and visualize Nginx logs for better insight into web server performance.

  13. Grafana Alerting 55 minutes

    In this module, we will cover Grafana alerting, from setting up notification channels to creating alert rules. You'll learn how to configure Grafana to proactively monitor your systems and send alerts when necessary.

  14. Grafana with Databases 1 hour

    In this module, we will guide you through connecting and configuring MySQL as a data source for Grafana. You'll also learn how to query SQL data and use Grafana dashboards to monitor MySQL performance effectively.

  15. Grafana Access Control 1.5 hours

    In this module, we will explore the various access control features in Grafana, including user roles, teams, and permissions. You’ll learn how to manage access and secure your Grafana instance with various login methods.

  16. Kubernetes Integration with Grafana and Prometheus 1 hour

    In this module, we will show you how to monitor Kubernetes clusters with Grafana and Prometheus. You’ll also learn how to set up an EKS cluster on AWS and build a full observability stack to monitor containerized environments.

  17. Conclusion 1.5 hours

    In this module, we will recap everything you've learned throughout the course and provide guidance on next steps to continue advancing your Grafana and observability expertise.
